Ella Trahan WPIAL 106lb WRESTLING Champion!!!
Ella Trahan made Fort Cherry history becoming the 1st Lady Ranger to win a WPIAL wrestling championship in program history. Ella won the 106 lb championship on 2/15/25 at North Allegheny with a 3 period pin which upped her record to 25-5 on the year. Ella will compete at Regionals in a few weeks with a possible trip to the State Championship in HERSHEY ON THE HORIZON!!!

Lady Rangers win back to back section titles!!!
The Lady Rangers finished the regular season 18 - 3 and won their second consecutive section championship. They open up WPIAL play as the #5 seed in AA and will face the California Trojans in a 1st round match up on Tuesday Feb 18th at Fort Cherry.

Braedon Welsh breaks FC Wrestling win record!!!!
Braedon Welsh had an outstanding winter break winning the Tricada, Southmoreland and Nurse Pro Plus Tourneys. He was recognized at the OR and Trib Live athlete of the week. On 1/8/25 in a win over South Side Braedon picked up win number 130 which is best all time at Fort Cherry beating out Sam Guidi's 129 win total. Congrats Braedon!

Cornali joins 1000 point club!
Congratulations to Shane Cornali who is the newest member of the Fort Cherry Basketball 1000 point club! Shane helped his team win in a key section match up against West Greene on January 7th where he netted his 1000 point of his career! Way to go Shane!

Lady Rangers Basketball on FIRE!!! 10-2 to start the season!
The Fort Cherry Lady Rangers girls basketball team had an outstanding winter break of basketball. The won the McGuffey holiday tourney with Amarah Martino and Olivia Kemp making the all tourney team. They beat Brentwood, Wash High and their rival Burgettstown to start the season 10-2. They are currently ranked #5 in the WPIAL in AA. They have an important section match up against South Side on 1/13. We hope to see everyone there supporting our Lady Rangers!

Matt Sieg wins regional awards and will represent the Steelers!
After leading Fort Cherry football to back to back Blackhills and WPIAL championships the honors rolled in for Matt Sieg. He was named the Observer Reporter, Triblive and Post-Gazette player of the year. He also made the Fab 22 players in the region. He was named a KDKA super 7 all star. The Penn State recruit will represent the Steelers at Nike's The Next Ones in New Orleans, which is an elite showcase featuring 33 of the top high school football athletes during Super Bowl Week. Congrats Matt!

Varsity Girls Basketball wins tip-off tourney!
The Fort Cherry girls basketball team won the Fort Cherry Tip Off tourney held on Dec 6th and 7th at the Fort. They beat the Ellis School on night one and then went out and beat 4A power Beaver 47 to 42 in the championship game. Bella and Gianna Bianchini were named to the All tourney team and Olivia Kemp earned tourney MVP honors.

Unified Bocce comes to Fort Cherry
Unifed Bocce was added to the plethora of sport opportunities at Fort Cherry. Current team members are Bryce Gilbert, Tom Boris, Olivia Podrasky, Taylor Scott, Walker Sherwin, Masen Baughman, Alyssa Gable, Blayke Mayfield, Emma Ware and Coach Ben Maxin. The 1st home Bocce match will be Wed January, 15th vs. Ringold at 330pm in the Fort Cherry High School gym. Ranger Nation please come out and support these Athletes!!!
